Why I ignored police invitation to Lagos — VeryDarkMan

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has explained his refusal to honor an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force to appear in Lagos. Otse, who resides in Abuja, described the invitation as "malicious," arguing that he should be allowed to respond to allegations made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police Moshood Jimoh at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, rather than travel to Lagos.

I think the invite is malicious. The reason is because I live in Abuja.

Otse expressed concern that the invitation to Lagos might be a ploy to confiscate his mobile phone and erase crucial evidence related to his claims. "We are losing confidence in the police," he stated, emphasizing his possession of evidence to support his allegations against AIG Jimoh. He voiced distrust in cases currently handled by Jimoh.

I called you out that you compromised a case by pinning a murder case on an innocent man. Meanwhile, the Abuja I live in is the headquarters of the NPF headed by an IGP. So, calling me to Lagos when I can answer here is malicious.

The Nigeria Police Force had previously confirmed inviting Otse to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja to substantiate his claims. The police also noted that AIG Jimoh had been summoned for questioning as part of an internal accountability process. They stressed that the criminal matter referenced by the activist is already before a court and should not be determined through media commentary, urging Otse to cooperate with the investigative and judicial processes.
