Arne Slot, the former head coach of Liverpool, has revealed his reasons for declining the vacant Netherlands manager position, emphasizing his desire to remain in club football. Slot had discussions with the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) regarding the role, which became available after Ronald Koeman's departure, but ultimately chose not to proceed.

Over the past few weeks, and particularly the past few days, various reports have appeared regarding the vacancy at the Dutch national team, suggesting that I had withdrawn from the process after lengthy negotiations, including regarding salary and contract duration.

Slot addressed reports suggesting his withdrawal stemmed from disagreements over salary or contract duration. "That speculation is incorrect. We simply never reached that stage of the talks," he stated, as reported by BBC Sport. He explained that his current career preference is to work directly with a club team on a daily basis.
