Wife of major fallen while fighting 'sand thieves' in Khánh Hòa recruited as commune police officer

The Khánh Hòa Provincial Police have officially recruited the wife of a major who died in the line of duty. Major Nguyễn Xuân Hải was killed while pursuing individuals involved in illegal sand mining activities.

The Khánh Hòa Provincial Police have announced a decision to recruit the wife of Major Nguyễn Xuân Hải - who died while pursuing a group engaged in illegal sand mining.

Lê Thị Thùy Hân, the wife of the fallen officer, received her recruitment decision on June 3. She has been appointed to work at the Diên Khánh Commune Police. Her employment is subject to a six-month probationary period, starting June 1, 2026, during which she must successfully fulfill her duties.

Following the successful completion of this trial period, Hân will be considered for permanent integration into the People's Public Security force. In a separate gesture of support, the Khánh Hòa Provincial Women's Union of the Police has pledged to sponsor the education of Major Hải's one-year-old daughter, N.L.H.Y.

On June 3, the Khánh Hòa Provincial Police announced the decision to recruit citizen Lê Thị Thùy Hân (29 years old), wife of Major Nguyễn Xuân Hải (an officer of Diên Lâm Commune Police, Khánh Hòa Province), who died while on duty, into the People's Public Security.

Major Nguyễn Xuân Hải tragically died in the early hours of March 21 while attempting to apprehend a group engaged in illegal sand extraction on the Cái River, within Diên Lâm Commune. His sacrifice in the pursuit of justice against illegal mining operations has led to this posthumous recognition and support for his family.

According to the decision of the Director of Khánh Hòa Provincial Police, Ms. Lê Thị Thùy Hân... is selected and assigned to work at Diên Khánh Commune Police.
