Interest-Free Loans Provided to 40 Farming Households in Thai Nguyen

A significant initiative, "Tiếp sức nhà nông" (Supporting Farmers), is providing crucial financial and educational support to 40 underprivileged farming families in Thai Nguyen province. This program, a collaboration between Tuoi Tre newspaper and GREENFEED Vietnam, aims to bolster rural livelihoods and encourage academic achievement among the children of these families.

Each participating household will receive an interest-free loan of 25 million VND, to be repaid over two years. This financial injection, part of a total support package of 1.12 billion VND, also includes vital assistance with animal feed. The program specifically targets families facing hardship, with an emphasis on those who have children demonstrating academic excellence despite challenging circumstances.

Beyond financial aid, the initiative recognizes the importance of education by awarding 40 students from these families for their strong academic performance, with a total of 40 million VND in rewards. This dual focus on economic stability and educational advancement underscores the program's commitment to creating sustainable opportunities.

Looking ahead, the program plans to extend its support to 160 farming households across Tay Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong provinces in 2026, with a total funding of over 4.48 billion VND. With a repayment rate exceeding 95%, the "Tiếp sức nhà nông" program has a proven track record of success over its 16-year history, having supported thousands of farmers and students, and provided extensive training in animal husbandry techniques. The program's focus on empowering rural women, who constitute about 95% of beneficiaries, is particularly noteworthy, aiming to enhance their economic independence and foster a cycle of self-reliance and improved future prospects for the next generation.
