Wike approves promotion of 3,592 FCT civil servants

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants, marking a significant development as part of President Bola Tinubu's third-year anniversary.

As part of the third year anniversary of President Bola Tinubu, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful conclusion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

The FCT Civil Service Commission conducted the 2025 promotion exercise, with senior officers examined from July 1-3 and junior staff on July 10. The Chairman of the Commission, Emeka Ezeh, announced the approval, describing it as a testament to the administration's commitment to staff welfare and the "Renewed Hope Agenda."

Ezeh highlighted that the promotion of workers is a priority to complement the FCT Minister's infrastructural development efforts. He also revealed that Wike directed the commission to immediately commence the 2026 promotion exercise, ensuring eligible officers are promoted promptly. This move aims to ensure civil servants benefit from the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

Under this administration, it is a priority that FCT workers get promoted as and when due. This is to complement the tremendous work that the FCT Minister is doing in infrastructural development of the Territory.

The commission chairman commended the civil servants for their conduct during the exercise and urged continued discipline and professionalism. He also acknowledged the cooperation of the Joint Union Action Committee. Ezeh advised candidates for the 2026 exercise to prepare early, emphasizing that promotions in the FCT Civil Service are merit-based.
