Wike shuts secretariat of dissolved FG houses committee

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has taken decisive action by ordering the immediate closure of the secretariat that served the dissolved Ad-hoc Committee on Sales of Federal Government Houses.

This move signifies a restructuring of how sales of federal government properties will be managed. Wike has approved the establishment of a dedicated division within the Department of Land Administration. This new division will assume all responsibilities previously handled by the defunct ad-hoc committee, ensuring a continued but centralized process for property sales.

The secretariat was initially kept operational after the committee concluded its work to address any lingering issues. However, with its formal closure, the FCT Administration is directing the public to engage solely with the Department of Land Administration for all matters concerning the sale of federal government houses within the FCT.

Furthermore, the administration issued a stern warning to the public regarding potential fraudsters. Individuals are urged to be vigilant against those who may impersonate staff or officials of the dissolved committee or its secretariat, as neither entity officially exists anymore. All dealings should now be channeled through the designated government department.
