Lithuania boasts numerous renowned individuals across various fields, from politics and sports to arts and sciences. Some of these figures have achieved recognition not only within Lithuania but also on European and global stages.

A new quiz from Delfi invites readers to test their knowledge by identifying 10 famous Lithuanians based solely on their eyes. The challenge aims to engage the public with the country's notable personalities.

Among those featured is President Valdas Adamkus, who is set to celebrate his 100th birthday this autumn. Adamkus, a significant figure in Lithuania's history, is respected both domestically and internationally. Despite emigrating in 1944 and later living in Germany and the U.S., he consistently supported Lithuania's independence while working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius has proposed a photography exhibition at the Palace of the Grand Dukes to commemorate Adamkus's centenary.

Lithuania's reputation extends to sports, with Olympic, World, and European champion swimmer Rūta Meilutytė being a globally recognized athlete. She was ranked third in the 2025 Best Female Swimmer of the Old Continent elections, underscoring her international standing.
