Winter holidays: five places less than 90 km from the city to spend the day with the little ones

With winter school holidays approaching, families in Buenos Aires are looking for engaging activities to entertain children without extensive travel or high costs. The school break, scheduled from July 20 to July 31, is prompting many to plan short day trips.

Fortunately, numerous options exist less than 90 kilometers from the capital. These include parks, natural reserves, and recreational areas offering a mix of games, shows, and outdoor activities suitable for all ages. The República de los Niños in La Plata, a traditional educational and recreational complex, is one such destination.

This park, located just over 50 km from Buenos Aires, features buildings inspired by children's stories, green spaces, a train, and dining options. During the winter holidays, it will host a special program with free activities, including circus performances, creative workshops, and children's shows. The park is open Tuesday through Sunday, with free entry.

Another unique option is Campanópolis, situated about 40 kilometers from Buenos Aires in González Catán. This 200-hectare site recreates a medieval village with castles, wooden bridges, mills, and cobblestone streets, largely constructed from recycled materials. Created by businessman Antonio Campana, the village offers a fairytale-like experience. Visitors can explore its unique buildings and picturesque corners, ideal for photography. Access to Campanópolis is exclusively through guided tours, which detail the site's history and the origin of its constructions.
