Witness Recounts Harassment in Gülistan Doku Case, Disputes Suicide Theory

A crucial witness testimony has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of university student Gülistan Doku in Tunceli, shedding new light on the circumstances surrounding her vanishing. M.T., a friend and former colleague of Doku's at a local cafe, detailed in her statement the distressing experiences they endured at the workplace. She described how "high-ranking" customers subjected her and Doku to persistent, unwanted attention, characterized by their "gazes," which created an atmosphere of discomfort so profound that M.T. stated, "I wouldn't have been so bothered if they had harassed us verbally." This suggests a level of objectification and intrusion that forced them to seek refuge by working in the dishwashing area to avoid customer contact. The witness's account also directly challenges the notion that Doku might have taken her own life. M.T. firmly believes Gülistan was not the type to commit suicide, recalling an incident where Doku refused medication for a cold due to concerns about potential allergic reactions. "A girl who is afraid to take medicine for fear of an allergic reaction cannot possibly commit suicide," M.T. asserted, highlighting Doku's apparent will to live and her cautious nature.
