Woman Attacked on Athens' Lycabettus Hill; Suspect Flees

A terrifying ordeal unfolded on Lycabettus Hill in Athens when a 22-year-old woman was targeted by an unknown assailant. The woman experienced moments of intense fear as a man followed her before suddenly attacking her on the popular hill.

Her escape was aided by her own quick thinking and the crucial intervention of a local resident. According to reports, the attacker stalked the young woman before launching a surprise assault, attempting to immobilize her. She reacted with remarkable composure, managing to push him away and break free. While fleeing, she tripped and sustained minor injuries but continued to run.

The pursuit continued as the woman sought safety, eventually reaching Sarantapichou street. It was there that a vigilant resident noticed the ongoing chase and decisively intervened, prompting the attacker to flee towards the Exarchia area. Authorities have launched an extensive search for the suspect, who remains at large. The 22-year-old is reported to be physically unharmed but remains in a state of shock following the harrowing experience. The Exarchia Security and Investigation Department is handling the case.
