Woman carried down Mount Irau after suffering breathing difficulties

A female hiker had to be carried down for three kilometers after suffering from shortness of breath on Mount Irau. The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received an emergency call at 8:32 p.m. regarding the incident. The hiker was participating in an "open trip" hiking activity on Mount Irau, which straddles the border between Perak and Pahang. Upon arrival, rescue teams were guided by local mountain guides to the hiker's location, about six kilometers from a police assistance post. As vehicles could only reach three kilometers into the area, rescue personnel had to hike the rest of the way. The operation, which included five firefighters from Simpang Pulai and Brinchang fire stations, along with a medical officer and a civilian, successfully located the woman at 11:10 p.m. She received initial aid and was kept warm before being assisted down the mountain. The rescue concluded at 12:40 a.m. and the woman was transferred to medical personnel for hospitalization.
