Woman Dies, Three Men Injured in Antón Nightclub Shooting

A woman, approximately 31 years old, died and three men sustained injuries during a shooting at a nightclub in Antón, Coclé province, early Sunday morning. The victims were rushed to the Antón Maternal and Child Hospital for medical attention, but the woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. Her body was subsequently transferred to the judicial morgue in Aguadulce. One of the injured men remains in intensive care at the Rafael Estévez Hospital in Aguadulce.

According to a preliminary report from the National Police, the shooting happened minutes after a patrol operation in the area. An individual then entered the nightclub and opened fire. The establishment reportedly had only one entrance and lacked surveillance cameras. Around 50 people were inside the venue at the time of the attack, including individuals with alleged ties to gangs and those under periodic reporting orders.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting so far. Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances of the attack to identify and apprehend the perpetrator. This incident brings the total number of homicides in Coclé province this year to 10.
