Man Charged with Aggravated Robbery After Home Invasion in David

A man faces charges for aggravated robbery following a home invasion in David, Chiriquí province. The incident, which took place on August 6, 2026, involved several individuals allegedly armed with firearms who entered a residence. They reportedly threatened the occupants and stole their belongings.

The Regional Prosecutor's Office of Chiriquí presented evidence to the Court of Guarantees to support the investigation. Prosecutors requested the legalization of the arrest and the formal charging of the suspect.

During the hearing, the Public Ministry also outlined the procedural risks they believe are present in the case. These include potential danger to the community and victims, as well as the risk of the accused evading the judicial process. The Court of Guarantees considered these arguments and ordered the precautionary measures requested by the prosecution for the duration of the investigation.
