Woman fakes kidnap, found with lover in Delta hotel

A married woman in Nigeria has been found in a hotel with her lover after staging her own abduction and demanding a ransom of N50 million from her family. The woman, identified as Oluchi, was discovered in Ubiaroko, Delta State, by police who traced the number of the man she was with. Her family, including her daughter Anita in Canada, had initially pleaded for help to raise the ransom, which was later reduced to N20 million. Anita expressed deep shock and betrayal, stating that her mother's actions had shattered the family and ruined her own reputation. She vowed that the family would allow the legal process to unfold. The Harmony Ladies Club, a social group Anita belongs to, also issued a statement expressing disappointment and embarrassment, having provided emotional, logistical, and financial support believing the kidnapping was real. The club felt a profound sense of betrayal upon learning the incident was staged.
