Woman fatally shot in Hidalgo bar; partner suspected attacker

A woman, identified as Lucero "N," was fatally shot inside the "La Escondida" bar in the community of Huitel, Tezontepec de Aldama, Hidalgo. The assailant, who witnesses believe may be her romantic partner, entered the establishment and fired multiple shots at the victim's head. She was transported to Cinta Larga Hospital, where she later died.

State and municipal authorities launched an operation to apprehend the suspect, but he managed to escape. This homicide occurs shortly after another young woman was killed in Actopan on May 17. In that case, an argument with her ex-partner led to him shooting her in the street. She also died at a hospital, and the suspect, identified as E.B.M., was detained by locals. The Prosecutor's Office reported that the responsible party in the Actopan case is in preventive detention for femicide.

The investigation into the Tezontepec shooting is ongoing, with no arrests made as of the report. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about violence against women in the region.
