Woman found dead in Guaire River on August 12 identified

The identity of a woman found dead near the Guaire River on August 12 has been confirmed as Laury Josefina Silva Pérez. Her body was discovered by passersby in El Llanito, Miranda state, prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Silva Pérez was last seen by acquaintances when she left her home in Caracas for a walk. Her family identified her body on August 13 at the National Service of Forensic Medicine and Sciences (Senamecf) in Bello Monte. According to relatives, she had been experiencing depression.

Preliminary police reports indicate Silva Pérez suffered a frontal cranial trauma with an open wound. While authorities have initiated an investigation to clarify the cause of death, they currently state there is insufficient evidence to suggest homicide.
