Woman Found Dead in Locked Bathroom in Medan, Police Suspect Suicide

Police in Medan, North Sumatra, are investigating the death of a 30-year-old woman found with a gunshot wound to her head. The incident, which occurred Sunday afternoon in the Kompleks Bumi Asri housing complex, is being treated as a probable suicide.

Investigators also noted old scars on the victim's arm, which Simanjuntak confirmed were not recent. "These are old wounds, not from recently. However, our team is investigating these old wounds," he added, stating they have identified where and by whom the wounds were inflicted. He asserted that these self-inflicted wounds were on her left wrist.

Forensic examination included swab tests on the victim and Bripda IH to detect gunshot residue. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities looking into all aspects of the case, including the victim's past injuries.
