Woman Found Dead in Sealed Vehicle in South Korea; Heatstroke Suspected

Authorities in Yeongdong, South Korea, are investigating the death of a woman in her 50s found inside a parked vehicle. The incident occurred on a day when temperatures reached a high of 34.8 degrees Celsius (94.6 degrees Fahrenheit).

The woman was discovered by her companions in a car parked at the Wolryubong Dulle-gil walking trail parking lot. She had reportedly complained of dizziness while her companions were collecting freshwater snails in a nearby stream and had gone to the car to rest. The vehicle's engine was off, and the doors were unlocked, but the windows were closed.

Given the extreme heat and the circumstances, police are leaning towards heatstroke as the likely cause of death. Officials noted that the woman had no known pre-existing medical conditions that might have contributed to her death.

To ascertain the precise cause of her demise, the National Forensic Service has been requested to perform an autopsy on the body. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the discovery.
