Woman Rescued After Dangling From 7th-Floor Air Conditioner Unit

A dramatic rescue unfolded in Asan, South Korea, where a woman in her 40s was saved from a perilous situation after dangling from the 7th-floor air conditioner unit outside her apartment. The incident occurred on June 23, highlighting the swift response of emergency services.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., the Asan Fire Department received a report of a person hanging from an apartment balcony. Upon arrival, the first responders from the Shinchang 119 Safety Center discovered the woman clinging to the exterior of the air conditioner unit on the 7th floor. To mitigate the risk of a fall, the rescue team immediately deployed an air mattress on the ground below.

As additional units arrived, some firefighters proceeded to the woman's apartment on the 7th floor. Before the rescue team could gain entry into the residence, the woman fell from her precarious position. Fortunately, she landed on the pre-positioned air mattress, which cushioned her fall.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she is reportedly recovering. Asan Fire Chief Park Jong-in praised his team's rapid deployment of the air mattress and their coordinated response, stating, "Thanks to the swift deployment of the air mattress and the seamless response of our team members, we were able to save a precious life." He affirmed the department's commitment to maintaining readiness to protect citizens' safety.
