Woman's Throat Squeezed in Gym Altercation; Another Woman Intervenes

A disturbing incident unfolded at a gym in Mersin, Turkey, where a man allegedly assaulted a woman during a heated argument. The altercation, which took place on June 5 in the Çiftlikköy neighborhood of the Yenişehir district, saw the man, identified as Kürşat T. (33), allegedly grab the woman, Aylin D. (33), by the throat.

Fortunately, the situation did not escalate further thanks to the swift intervention of another woman who was present at the gym. She stepped in and managed to separate the arguing pair, preventing the assault from becoming more severe.

Following the incident, Aylin D. filed a complaint against Kürşat T. Based on the victim's statement and the circumstances, law enforcement officers detained the suspect. After undergoing processing at the police station, Kürşat T. was brought before the court.

The court subsequently ordered his release under judicial control, a measure that typically involves conditions such as regular reporting to authorities or restrictions on leaving the country. The entire incident, including the argument and the intervention, was captured on the gym's security cameras, providing visual evidence of the events.
