Woman Sentenced to 30 Months for Supplying Drugs to Minor Stepdaughter

A 42-year-old woman has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined 8,000 euros by the Hasselt court for providing drugs to her 14-year-old stepdaughter. The court also found her guilty of possessing cocaine and speed between May 31, 2023, and October 20, 2023.

The woman, who reportedly had no known address, faced a significant delay before her trial. The court acknowledged this prolonged waiting period, noting that her case had been inactive for 16 months. This delay played a role in the final sentencing decision.

An initial mediation process was initiated but was terminated in December 2024. The woman was not summoned to court until April 8, 2026. Her failure to appear in court was also taken into account by the judge when determining the sentence.
