Woman Visiting Family in Peru Killed by Hit-and-Run Bus Driver in Los Olivos

A woman visiting family in Peru tragically died after being struck by a speeding bus in the district of Los Olivos. Giovanna Sonia Rodríguez Loa, 52, was on the pedestrian walkway when the bus veered off the road and hit her from behind.

According to witnesses, the bus, license plate AOE-760, lost control and mounted the sidewalk. The impact sent the victim flying, and the bus continued its path, colliding with two other vehicles. The incident occurred on the 11th block of Carlos Izaguirre Avenue and caused panic among bystanders and drivers.

After the collision, the bus driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene before police arrived. Emergency services attempted to provide aid but confirmed Rodríguez Loa's death due to the severity of her injuries. Security cameras recorded the entire event, showing the vehicle swerving, hitting the woman, and then crashing into a blue car and a van.

Family members expressed their grief and determination to seek justice. The Peruvian National Police are investigating the accident, using the security footage to reconstruct the events and identify the responsible driver. Excessive speed is considered a potential factor, but the investigation is ongoing.
