Women’s Bundesliga: Leipzig earn first point after 1-1 draw at HSV

RB Leipzig’s women finally have their first point of the new Bundesliga season, but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Hamburger SV after creating the better chances.

The result followed two 2-0 defeats in Leipzig’s opening matches. At Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion, Leipzig controlled much of the game and took the lead in the 21st minute through Delice Boboy, who had earlier hit the crossbar. It was RB’s first goal of the young season.

Hamburg responded with its first real opportunity. Camilla Linberg converted a handball penalty in the 34th minute to make it 1-1.

Leipzig continued to find the better openings after the break, but Hamburg goalkeeper Kinga Szemik produced several strong saves. The hosts also missed one of their few chances, leaving both teams with a point.
