Wontumi judgment must lead to wider fight against galamsey- Dr. Zaato

Dr. Joshua Jebuntie Zaato, from the university's Department of Political Science, argued that the judgment must lead to a more extensive crackdown on 'galamsey,' the local term for illegal mining. He stressed that the conviction should not be an isolated event but rather a catalyst for broader, more effective measures to combat the environmental degradation caused by illicit mining operations.
