Worker critically injured after falling from SEN facility roof in Paraguay

A 29-year-old worker sustained severe injuries after falling from a roof at the National Emergency Secretariat (SEN) facilities in Mariano Roque Alonso, Paraguay. The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Monday, August 24, at the SEN premises located at Ecuador and República de Colombia streets.

The worker, identified as Roberto Acosta Ortiz from Ypané, was performing maintenance and infrastructure work on the roof of a shed at the time of the accident. Preliminary reports indicate that a metal sheet on the roof detached under his weight, causing him to fall approximately eight meters.

Volunteer firefighters from the area responded swiftly, providing immediate first aid. They found Acosta Ortiz unconscious but still showing vital signs. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was urgently transported to the Mariano Roque Alonso District Hospital for intensive medical treatment.
