World Cat Day: Mexico City Hosts Adoption Event, Urges People to Find 'Michis' a Home

In celebration of World Cat Day, the Mexico City Security Secretariat (SSC) is organizing a special adoption event for felines at the Glorieta de Insurgentes. The event, which began at 9 a.m. and will continue until 3 p.m., offers a chance for residents to meet and potentially adopt a cat.

The SSC, through its Animal Surveillance Brigade, is facilitating the adoptions. A spokesperson for the secretariat highlighted the emotional rewards of pet ownership, stating, "There are cats waiting for someone to choose them, to love them and give them a home. Come meet them and discover all the love a little life can bring to yours."

For individuals who cannot adopt a cat at this time, the SSC is also encouraging donations of cat food. This initiative underscores the SSC's commitment to animal welfare beyond just facilitating adoptions, aiming to support the well-being of stray and abandoned cats in the city.
