World Cup 2026: Tunisian delegation officially welcomed in Monterrey

The Tunisian national football team has officially arrived in Monterrey, Mexico, for the 2026 World Cup. The delegation was welcomed by Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda, the governor of Nuevo León, along with representatives from the Tunisian Football Federation and the Tunisian embassy in Washington.

FIFA organized a welcome meeting for the Tunisian delegation, attended by administrative and medical staff. The team also participated in an official FIFA photo session, described as dynamic and enthusiastic. The Eagles of Carthage are preparing for their tournament debut.

On Tuesday evening, the Tunisian squad conducted their first training session on a FIFA-provided pitch. The technical staff focused on final adjustments and acclimatizing to local conditions. The practice session attracted approximately one hundred spectators, including members of the local Tunisian community and residents of Monterrey.

Governor García Sepúlveda visited the training center to greet the delegation and express his support. Tunisia will begin their World Cup campaign against Sweden on June 15th at the BBVA Stadium in Monterrey. The tournament is co-hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada from June 11th to July 19th.
