World Cup final to cause city center closures in Bishkek

The heart of Bishkek will experience temporary traffic disruptions on July 19 as the city gears up to host an official fan zone for the FIFA World Cup final. The initiative, organized by event promoters, aims to create a communal viewing experience for football enthusiasts.

To ensure the safety of attendees, a section of Chuy Avenue, from Erkindik Avenue to Orozbekova Street, will be closed to traffic. Additional restrictions will be implemented on Orozbekova and Razzakova streets, covering the stretch from Chuy Avenue to the Square of Labor Glory, located behind the National Historical Museum.

The fan zone will be set up on Ala-Too Square. Festivities are scheduled to commence at 9:00 PM, with the main event, a live broadcast of the World Cup final, kicking off at 1:00 AM. Attendees can look forward to a variety of attractions, including food courts, entertainment areas, and a concert program.

Organizers have confirmed that entry to the fan zone will be free of charge, encouraging widespread participation. This event provides an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together and celebrate the culmination of the global football tournament in a festive and secure environment.
