World Cup Winner Mike Catt Appointed Fijian Drua Assistant Coach

Former Rugby World Cup champion Mike Catt is set to bring his extensive coaching experience to the Fijian Drua men's team as their senior assistant coach. His appointment, confirmed on Thursday, sees him join forces with newly appointed head coach Brad Mooar, forming a revamped coaching lineup ahead of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.

Catt, a key figure in England's historic 2003 World Cup victory and a participant in the 2007 final, shared his enthusiasm for the new role. "I'm very excited. "And I love the game, it has taken me around the world, and I've had the most incredible journey and for me to give back to the people and make sure that we go to another level is crucial."

With over a decade of international coaching experience, including roles with England, Italy, and Ireland, Catt's arrival is seen as a significant coup for the Drua. Fijian Drua CEO Jeff Miller emphasized Catt's wealth of knowledge, stating, "To have someone that has achieved so much as part of our coaching team is a great coup for our club and for Fiji!" Catt most recently served as Attack Coach for the NSW Waratahs and was part of Ireland's coaching staff during their successful period, including two Six Nations Grand Slam titles.
