World Mangrove Day: Bank BSN monitors growth of 1,150 seedlings

PT Bank Syariah Nasional (Bank BSN) is actively monitoring the growth of 1,150 mangrove seedlings planted in a conservation area to commemorate World Mangrove Day, observed annually on July 26. This initiative aims to ensure the success of mangrove rehabilitation efforts and promote the long-term sustainability of coastal ecosystems.

Alex Sofjan Noor, the President Director of Bank BSN, emphasized that successful mangrove rehabilitation extends beyond mere planting. "Planting mangroves is the beginning of a commitment, while nurturing and ensuring their growth is the true manifestation of responsibility," he stated. Regular monitoring is crucial to verify that each seedling thrives, maintains the balance of coastal ecosystems, strengthens community resilience against climate change impacts, and benefits both current and future generations.

Noor explained that the conservation program's success hinges on the seedlings' ability to grow, develop, and provide ecological and community benefits. The monitoring process, conducted in collaboration with the Coastal Environment Care Students, involves evaluating mangrove growth rates, seedling survival percentages, the condition of the coastal area, and the effectiveness of ongoing maintenance.
