World's Largest Commercial Aircraft, Airbus A380, Set for Inaugural Flight at Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is set to welcome the inaugural flight of Emirates' Airbus A380-800, the world's largest commercial passenger jet, on August 8, 2026. The aircraft will operate as flight EK358 on the Dubai (DXB) to Jakarta (CGK) route, with its return flight, EK359, departing the next day.

Heru Karyadi, General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, stated that the A380's arrival marks a significant milestone in enhancing Indonesia's international connectivity. It also confirms the airport's capability to service aircraft categorized as ICAO Aerodrome Reference Code 4F (Code F).

Karyadi emphasized that comprehensive preparations have been made in collaboration with regulators, the airline, and all aviation stakeholders. These efforts ensure that the A380 operations will be safe, secure, and smooth, providing an optimal experience for passengers. He noted that the presence of the Emirates A380 underscores international airlines' confidence in the airport's infrastructure and service quality.

The airport, Indonesia's largest and busiest, features three runways, two of which meet the requirements for Code F aircraft. These are supported by a parallel taxiway network, aprons, and terminal facilities designed for wide-body aircraft like the A380. The pavement classification rating (PCR) also meets the operational standards for the A380, further solidifying the airport's readiness.
