Wrestler Serhat Elvan assaulted at gas station

A physical altercation allegedly occurred at a gas station involving prominent Turkish wrestler Serhat Elvan and a former wrestler, Şaban Y., along with his nephews. The incident reportedly took place as Elvan was en route to participate in a traditional oil wrestling competition in Samsun's Vezirköprü district.

According to Elvan's account, the confrontation began when Şaban Y. approached him while he was taking a break at the gas station. Elvan stated that Şaban Y. demanded an apology for a social media post he had recently shared. When Elvan refused, asserting that the post contained no ill intent, the situation escalated. Şaban Y. and his two nephews then allegedly attacked Elvan.

Eyewitnesses intervened to break up the fight, and authorities were alerted. Security camera footage captured the altercation. Elvan, who was in Vezirköprü aiming to secure a top position in the wrestling league, expressed his distress over the incident and the threats he allegedly received. He has filed a formal complaint with the authorities, urging them to investigate the matter thoroughly. The alleged attackers were reportedly taken into custody for questioning but were later released.
