Wu Qing-feng 'disarms' himself for HBO series theme song

Taiwanese singer Wu Qing-feng, known for his work with the band Sodagreen, has stepped away from the band's planned "hibernation" to record the theme song for the HBO series "Kill My Heart." The song, titled "Sunny Doll," is a significant departure from his established career, as he was challenged to "forget" his previous 500 compositions and return to the mindset of a beginner songwriter.

This creative reset was a core part of the project's initial planning. The series' music director, Huang Ting, expressed admiration for Wu's ability to revert to his foundational creative state, noting the difficulty of such a task for an artist with a long career. Wu not only lent his voice to the theme song but also appeared in the end credits sequence alongside the show's main cast, including actors Joseph Chang, 9m88, Austin Chen, and Leon Dai.
