Yahaya Bello honoured as TPAND’s national patron

Yahaya Bello has received a new national role from Tinubu Presidential Ambassadors of Nigeria and Diaspora, which appointed the former Kogi State governor as its national patron.

The appointment was formalised at an investiture ceremony where TPAND presented Bello with an official letter. The organisation said it was recognising his leadership experience, public service record and commitment to national development.

TPAND Director General Yusuf Hussain, an All Progressives Congress chieftain, described the appointment as a call on Bello’s experience, influence and statesmanship. He said those qualities could help advance the organisation’s vision of a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria with a stronger standing internationally.

Hussain also praised Bello’s rise from grassroots politics to the highest level of leadership in Kogi State, as well as his contribution to national debate and development. He said Bello’s understanding of governance would be valuable as TPAND seeks to mobilise Nigerians in the country and in the diaspora behind what it called progressive democratic leadership and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

TPAND said Bello’s voice and experience could inspire younger generations and contribute to national unity. Its message to him was: “From Kogi to the nation. From the grassroots to the global community. From experience to the future. The journey continues.” The organisation said the appointment formed part of its effort to build a network of respected Nigerians who can promote Nigeria’s image, unity and democratic development at home and abroad.
