Yahir Rejects “Frozen” Reality-TV Tactic: “I’d Rather Stay Lukewarm”

Yahir has no intention of turning “La casa de los famosos México” into a battleground, despite repeated pressure from the production to make the contestants more controversial.

The show’s seventh elimination gala included a “frozen” challenge in which former participants, including Dalilah Polanco, Apio Quijano, Ricardo Peralta and Alexis Ayala, entered the house and delivered critical speeches. Their message was clear: the 11 remaining contestants, including Gala Montes, needed to change the way they were playing.

The contestants did not appear persuaded. Yahir told Gema Garoa, “Ese Pérez” and Memo Schutz that he preferred to stay true to his own strategy rather than provoke arguments for the sake of the show. “I’d rather stay lukewarm, no problem, that’s how I’m playing great,” he said. He added that he had no conflict with anyone, was comfortable doing household chores, cooking and training on his own schedule, and would accept the audience’s decision if they voted him out.

Yahir had already told Galilea Montijo that he would not instigate fights inside the house. He believes the contestants can create content through peaceful coexistence rather than aggression or violence.

Ernesto Laguardia also expressed anger over the way Apio spoke to Mariana Ochoa. Laguardia called the behavior rude and seriously inappropriate, but Memo Schutz stopped him from continuing after he used profanity. Laguardia then spoke privately with Mariana about the incident.
