Yangmei Xiucai Road Lane 178 Widening and Extension Project: Land Division in September

Taoyuan City is advancing its plan to widen and extend Xiucai Road Lane 178 in Yangmei District, a project designed to improve local traffic flow and connectivity. Currently, vehicles can only access the lane up to the north side of the Shihmen Irrigation Canal, where it is blocked from directly connecting to Zhongshan South Road. Residents traveling towards Hsinchu must detour through Xiucai Road and the intersection with Zhongshan South Road, causing inconvenience. The proposed improvements involve widening the existing lane and extending it northwest along the north side of the canal. It will then cross the canal and continue along the south side via a new road to connect with Zhongshan South Road. The new road will be approximately 1,036 meters long and 6 meters wide, with an estimated construction cost of 127 million yuan and a construction period of about 18 months. Following the completion of road alignment and urban planning changes, the city government announced the survey results for the stake positions on June 12. The Yangmei Land Office is slated to handle land division in September. The overall land acquisition process is projected to take two years, with the first public hearing anticipated in October. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly enhance the road network's completeness and ease of travel within the Yangmei District.
