The Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection has activated a yellow alert for Mexico City, anticipating strong rainfall and the possibility of hail. This measure is a proactive step to ensure public safety as forecasts predict rainfall between 15 and 29 millimeters, with hail possible between 2:45 PM and 10:00 PM on Thursday, May 21.

Citizens are urged to take precautions, such as carrying umbrellas or raincoats and refraining from disposing of grease or trash in drainage systems. Keeping drains clear of obstructions is crucial to prevent flooding. Additionally, residents should exercise caution when driving, as roads may become waterlogged, and debris from fallen trees or other objects could be present.

The alert also advises people to stay away from structures, trees, and power lines that appear to be at risk of falling. The city's emergency services are on standby to address any incidents that may arise from the adverse weather conditions.
