Yenişehir Municipality tightens controls on ice cream vendors

Mersin's Yenişehir Municipality has intensified inspections of ice cream vendors and manufacturers to ensure public health and safety during the peak summer season. Teams from the Municipal Police Department conducted comprehensive checks on businesses operating within the district.

The primary focus of these inspections was to verify adherence to hygiene standards, proper product storage conditions, valid business licenses, accurate weight measurements, and up-to-date expiration dates. The municipality emphasized the critical importance of maintaining appropriate conditions for ice cream, especially during hot weather, to safeguard consumer health.

During the checks, one business was found to be in violation of hygiene regulations and faced legal action. Other establishments with deficiencies were granted a grace period to rectify their shortcomings before a follow-up inspection.

The Yenişehir Municipality stated that these inspections are routine and are conducted to ensure citizens have access to safe and reliable food products. They highlighted that controls have been increased for ice cream producers and sellers due to seasonal conditions, urging all businesses to comply with hygiene rules, storage requirements, and relevant legislation to prevent consumer dissatisfaction and protect public health.
