Yeo Seo-jeong wins Asian Gymnastics Championships vault gold

South Korean artistic gymnastics star Yeo Seo-jeong has claimed the gold medal in the women's vault at the 2026 Asian Gymnastics Championships held in Zunyi, Guizhou Province, China.

Yeo, 24, secured the title with an average score of 14.349 points. She achieved 14.333 points in her first vault and 13.966 in her second, with a bonus of 0.2 points adding to her total. This performance placed her ahead of North Korea's An Chang-ok (13.949 points) and Japan's Miyata Shoko (13.833 points).

The victory is particularly significant as it represents Yeo's triumphant return to international competition following an injury that occurred after the Paris Olympics. The win also serves as strong preparation for the upcoming 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in September.
