Yescas Fraternity celebrates 48 years of tradition, seeks to crown 2028 Josesano Carnival

The emblematic Yescas Fraternity recently celebrated its 48th anniversary with a gala dinner, marking nearly five decades of institutional life and significant contributions to Josesano culture. The event also served as the formal occasion for the fraternity to announce its aspiration to crown the 2028 Josesano Carnival, a significant milestone as it will coincide with their 50th anniversary.

During the celebration, local authorities recognized the fraternity's enduring legacy. The Municipal Government, represented by councilwoman Rosa Elsy Mendoza, presented an official distinction for their invaluable contribution to Josesano culture. The Municipal Council also issued a formal Resolution of congratulations, highlighting the group's commitment and community work.

The Yescas Fraternity is known for its consistent civic engagement, actively participating in all official town events. They uniquely enhance the celebration of the Day of Josesano Tradition through theatrical reenactments that depict the historical life of San José. This dedication to preserving roots extends to their internal celebrations, where they maintain ancestral customs like the burial of the effigy and the carnival procession, all while supporting local talent with the electronic ensemble La Sonora Chiquitana, solidifying their role as guardians of Josesano identity.
