Yongin Semiconductor Cluster Completion Advanced by Seven Years; Minister Vows Year-End Construction Start

South Korea is accelerating the development of a major semiconductor cluster in Yongin, with plans to complete the project seven years ahead of schedule by 2027. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that construction is slated to commence by the end of this year.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong emphasized the urgency of the project, urging local governments and related parties to expedite the process. He stated that the government is committed to overcoming any obstacles to ensure the timely completion of the cluster, which is seen as crucial for maintaining South Korea's global competitiveness in the semiconductor sector.
