‘Yoon Bomi’s Husband’ Rado Recalls Severe Financial Hardship: ‘Even a Thief Just Walked Out’

Producer and composer Rado recalled a period when his four-member group could stretch one serving of food across three days. He shared the memory while appearing with former Someday members on a KBS 2TV program.

Someday debuted with “Do You Know,” a soundtrack song from the drama “Boys Over Flowers,” and reached No. 1 on the Cyworld BGM chart. Group leader Jung Se-young said the members earned almost no money and rotated the same tops and bottoms among themselves.

Rado described the hardship in sharper terms. “We divided one serving of food among four people and ate it over three days,” he said. He added, “A burglar once broke into our home, but after seeing us, he simply walked out.”

Film director Jang Hang-jun also recalled financial difficulties during his early marriage to writer Kim Eun-hee. “When I was newly married, Kim Eun-hee and I once ate one bowl of jjampong over four meals,” he said. He explained that they ate only the noodles during the first meal, then poured out the broth and ate it as jjampong rice during the second.

Rado responded, “So we weren’t the only ones having a hard time.” Rado dated Apink member Yoon Bomi for about 10 years before they married at a hotel in Seoul’s Yongsan district in May.
