Young talents earn Fiji Kulas call-ups for Hong Kong tour

A new wave of women's football talent is set to debut on the international stage with the selection of several young players for the 21-member Fiji Kulas squad. The team is preparing for an upcoming tour of Hong Kong.

Among the notable inclusions are Beatirice Qaniuci, a goalkeeper from Labasa College, and Ulamila Rasovasova, a forward from Kamil Muslim College. Both players have impressed through Fiji's youth development programs. Qaniuci, who has previously represented Fiji at the under-16 level and is part of the extended Fiji Girls Futsal squad for the Youth Olympic Games, described her selection as a "dream come true."

Qaniuci expressed pride in representing her family, school, and the people of Labasa at the senior level. Rasovasova, known for her speed and attacking prowess, also received her first senior national team call-up following appearances for Fiji's Under-16 and Under-19 teams. She stated that wearing the national jersey again is a "special feeling" and believes the tour will offer valuable experience for her career.

Other first-time call-ups include Selai Nai and overseas-based goalkeeper Aliana Vakaloloma. The Fiji Kulas are scheduled to depart this weekend for Hong Kong, where they will play two FIFA international friendlies on June 3 and 6. These matches are part of their ongoing preparations for future regional and international competitions.
