Taiwanese YouTuber Cai Agai has issued an apology following a controversy sparked by his comparison of a Japanese street artist's "likeness painting" with AI-generated images. The comparison drew widespread criticism, with many accusing him of disrespecting creators and the discussion even extended to Japan.

In a video released on June 29, Cai Agai addressed the incident, offering two points of explanation and expressing his commitment to a calmer, more responsible approach to external opinions. He began by apologizing to all creators and those concerned about the issue. He acknowledged that his understanding of artistic creation, cultural context, and the value of creators was insufficient when he made the comparison. Coupled with his typically direct and entertainment-oriented communication style, this led to discomfort among many viewers, an area he admitted requires deep reflection and learning.

Secondly, Cai Agai apologized for his immature emotional control and the oversimplification of differing viewpoints in his subsequent responses. He confessed that, in a moment of emotional reaction, he had categorized dissenting voices into a single stance, even labeling them, which derailed the genuine discussion and made those with different opinions feel misunderstood.
