YouTuber facing charges for fake corpse video seeks Japanese citizenship

A popular South Korean YouTuber, who faces legal action for allegedly fabricating a video about numerous discovered corpses, has declared his intention to pursue Japanese citizenship. The YouTuber, identified by his surname Cho and operating the channel 'Teacher Daebo' with approximately 950,000 subscribers, revealed his decision in a public video.

Cho stated that he has harbored a desire to become Japanese for the past seven years. He explained that the decision was difficult due to its implications for his family registry but felt there was no longer a reason to delay. He also noted that while he has had many positive experiences as a Korean YouTuber, the time felt right to proceed with his long-held aspiration.
