YouTuber Jeon Han-gil claims 'Jamsil 7-dong polling station items' again, files complaint against election officials

Conservative YouTuber Jeon Han-gil, known for his history lectures, has intensified his claims regarding irregularities in the recent local elections by releasing additional election materials. He alleges these items were used at the Jamsil 7-dong polling station, which experienced a ballot shortage, and were subsequently disposed of or hidden by election officials.

During a press conference held outside the Songpa Police Station, Jeon presented two ballot boxes, voting implements, and approximately 1,700 voter list verification slips. He asserted that these materials were part of the election supplies that the Election Commission claimed were lost or discarded from the Jamsil 7-dong polling station.

Jeon characterized the Election Commission's actions as a "systematic effort to conceal suspicions of election fraud." He further argued that the commission's failure to voluntarily call for a by-election constitutes an abuse of power and dereliction of duty.

This is not the first time Jeon has presented such evidence. He previously displayed ballot boxes at a protest outside the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, claiming they were used at the same polling station. When questioned by reporters about the source and acquisition of these items, Jeon cited the need to protect the informant's identity and declined to provide details.

Following the press conference, Jeon's group filed a complaint with the Songpa Police Station against the acting chairman of the Central Election Commission, Wi Cheol-hwan, and officials from the Songpa Election Commission. The charges include dereliction of duty and violations of the Public Official Election Act.
