Zagreb Residents Demand Action on Faulty Waste Bins

Residents of Tkalčićeva Street have demanded answers from the City of Zagreb regarding the persistent issue of malfunctioning waste containers near house number 35. They raised concerns at a local forum, questioning why the containers have not been removed and what concrete steps will be taken to prevent further improper waste disposal.

In response, city officials assured that they would arrange an urgent inspection of the site to assess the condition of the containers and remove any that are faulty. They highlighted a comprehensive range of measures being implemented across the city to enhance waste management systems and improve public order.

In cooperation with the Čistoća Branch, we will request an urgent inspection of the mentioned location, check the condition of the containers, and remove all faulty containers.

These measures include educational campaigns for citizens on proper waste separation and container usage, increased monitoring by municipal wardens in areas with frequent irregularities, and collaboration with the "Čistoća" utility company, which also has the authority to issue fines. The city also encourages citizens to report issues to the municipal warden service and Čistoća for faster intervention.

Officials further stated their commitment to systematically improving the municipal system. This involves modernizing containers, raising service quality, and continuously educating citizens on responsible waste handling. The goal is to foster a cleaner and more orderly urban environment.
