Zagreb residents warned of attempted break-ins after doors damaged in Špansko neighborhood

Residents of the Špansko neighborhood in Zagreb have been alerted to a potential break-in attempt after discovering damaged entrance doors to their apartment building. The incident, which appears to have occurred overnight or in the early morning hours, has prompted warnings for neighbors to inspect their own building entrances and remain vigilant.

Photographs of the damaged doors were shared in a local Facebook group, "Zakaj volim Špansko" (Why I love Špansko). The post indicated that the doors were likely forced open using a crowbar or a similar tool, leaving them visibly damaged and unable to be secured properly.

"Attempted or broken entrance doors on Drage Gervaisa Street. Check your buildings, this happened last night or early this morning. Very obviously with a crowbar or something similar. If anyone saw anything suspicious, please report it. Thieves are in our neighborhood and are clearly operating or planning," wrote the author of the post, urging others to be cautious. The damaged doors are currently unclosable due to the damage, raising concerns about security within the residential building and the wider neighborhood.
