Zamfara Government Digitalizes Public Healthcare System

The Zamfara State Government has initiated a digital health strategy aimed at transforming healthcare delivery throughout the state. The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, announced the launch during a stakeholders' engagement meeting in Gusau, emphasizing the necessity of digitalization for improving access to quality healthcare, bolstering disease surveillance, and enhancing data management.

Governor Dauda Lawal's administration is committed to driving this digital transformation to create a more efficient, responsive, and resilient healthcare system. Dr. Maradun acknowledged that while progress has been made in deploying digital health solutions, significant challenges persist. These include fragmented digital systems, limited interoperability between platforms, inadequate coordination, poor digital literacy among health workers, and infrastructure gaps.
