Zelenskyy: North Korea preparing further support for Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserted that Russia is poised to receive further military assistance from North Korea. In a statement released on X, Zelenskyy alleged that Pyongyang is preparing to supply Moscow with new ballistic missile launchers.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia has been actively preparing for the deployment of North Korean soldiers in the Voronezh region since June. He further claimed that Russia intends to recruit approximately 30,000 soldiers from the isolated communist nation.

Russian authorities have yet to respond to President Zelenskyy's claims. However, reports indicate that North Korea previously sent around 14,000 soldiers to aid Russia in the Kursk region following a significant Ukrainian attack in the area in 2024.

Analysts suggest that Russia has provided financial support, food, energy supplies, and military technology to North Korea in return for its military backing. Russian President Vladimir Putin recently thanked North Korea's foreign minister for the support, acknowledging the assistance provided for Russia's ongoing military operations.
